To Scratch or Not to Scratch?? Part 1
My profundity for the day:

If you have an itch….. scratch it!! Think about it!! It makes sense!

And if it still itches, scratch it some more!!! Don’t think about it….. just do it!!
Anyhow, I have been thinking about that, and thinking about itches and scratching, and I’ve come to the conclusion that sometimes you should, and sometimes you shouldn’t.
Remember when you had chickenpox!!?? (If you’ve never had it, you’re on of the lucky ones.) You’d be itching like crazy and you’d just want to scratch!! But what does your mum say?? (And of course, mums always know best!!)
She’d say, “Don’t scratch!!” Then she might even put socks on your hands so you couldn’t scratch. And why not scratch?? ‘Cause it would make the sores worse and leave horrible scars.
Oh, how much like life that is!!!
My mate Dave says:
“Ahhh but sometimes the thing that itches is detrimental, and therefore you have to resist scratching it!! I think of such times when we are tempted to sin (itching) and we are told to flee it (as in not scratch it)!”
Gee, thanks Dave for that insight!!
Here’s what it says in the Bible:
“So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7, NLT)
“Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same kind of suffering you are.
“In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. All power to him forever! Amen.” (1 Peter 5:8-11, NLT)
“If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.” (1 Corinthians 10:12-13, NLT)
Isn’t that just like when your mum put lotion on the chickenpox sores to stop the itch? You know, God does the same thing for us through His Spirit. It’s called GRACE!! He gives us the grace so we can endure!!
And Jesus said to Paul:
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9, ESV)

This made me smile Jeanette as my dog Cindy is now recovering from sores that have caused such itching!. I too have had a skin disorder for a long time and it is awful when I want to itch it. Cindy is now recovering. Me well I’m very tired today and just want to sleep. Depression always hovers over me and has done for some time. Pray for me Jeanett cause I think Ray just doesn’t understand (my hubby how I really feel).
I come over to wordpress a couple times a week and so far has been blessed. Just panic that I can’t fit everything in.
